Experience
I attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. At this institution, I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. My first degree was a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and my second degree was a Master of Education in Secondary Education. Once I gradated from Vanderbilt, I moved to New York, where I was a volunteer at an after-school program in Buffalo. As part of the program, I taught all subjects to kindergarten through high school students. I had a position substitute teaching in the same geographical location as well. Now, I am in San Francisco, continuing my professional journey as a substitute instructor.With a degree in music, one would think that I would enjoy tutoring in that area the most. However, my preference lies in the core subjects, as those are the basic foundation for any degree path, job, and life in the real world. Math and English are especially important topics. It is my objective to teach students to seek answers and come to their own conclusions so that they can become competent in the subjects tutored. I do have high expectations, because I feel that people are capable of more progress than they are aware of.
